Dear Wallpaper,

It has only been 6 months since we met, but that has been plenty of time for me to form my opinion of you.

I'm sure, given time, some of your styles would have come back into vintage vogue...

...but I worried what effect the visual stimulation would have on my growing children.
So you had to go.

I have spent hours, no...DAYS... in uncomfortable places...

...gaining wallpaper removal experiences that have me living in fear of other closets in my home.

Dealing with your painted-over mess has sent me to the doctor for a tetanus shot.

Plus, your odd placement around the house (behind the kitchen cupboards)...

...has me scratching my head with confusion (closet ceiling).

I'm sick of the mind games, Wallpaper.  Coming off so easily on one wall...

...yet causing me to gouge the drywall on the next with your stubbornness.
And let's not forget what I found under a layer of painted wallpaper.  What was that?  Oh yeah, more WALLPAPER!

So I'll play along with your little "find the wallpaper" games for now, but sponge paint can only disguise you for so long.

The "writing's on the wall," you brittle, smelly paper...

...what remains of you will soon just be scraps on the floor.

Hear that?  Sounds like the roar of my Paper Tiger...along with the delighted squeals of my spray-bottle-wielding children.

It won't be long now...

Love,

Time to Smile

Yesterday was "one of those days" and I was in desperate need of a pick-me-up.  Luckily, Gavin decided that he wanted to watch a particular video from his birthday that I hadn't yet uploaded from the camera.  Found among the videos that I transferred to the computer yesterday was this little gem.

Instant pick-me-up.

SICK!

The Royers are SICK!!

And we HAVE been sick for over a week.  When I thought our colds were winding down, they decided to come back with a vengeance....and pink eye...

As I have been going crazy being quarantined in the house this past week, I decided to catch up on my coupon clipping.  With coupons on the brain, I realized that all of the medicine and such that we were using were all purchased with coupons.

Don't roll your eyes yet.  If you aren't a believer, hear me out.
This is what our family has gone through this week:

three boxes of Kleenex
one bottle of Children's Sudafed
one box of Theraflu caplets
Vicks waterless vaporizer and five refill pads
one bag of cough drops
one box of homeopathic medicine (given to Uncle Mike...sharing medicine since we share colds!)
one pill of Zicam (sorry...one pill was all I could handle)
one bottle of infant ibuprofen (purchased before my couponing era)

TOTAL COST:  $0

Before I started stocking up on the freebies that I scored through couponing, our family would drop an easy $20 when a cold swept through our house. This time, I didn't have to purchase a single thing (except for the pink eye prescription).  It's worth it, friends!

So, I would suggest heading over to one of my favorite websites (probably the most "beginner friendly" but still pretty in-depth) and start preparing for your next cold!  :)
