Jaynee's Time to Shine

I realized that the last few posts have been mainly about Gavin and I haven't given much update on Jaynee. She is such a good-natured little gal; I'm sure our situation right now could be much more difficult than it is - luckily Little Miss Jaynee is perfectly happy (most of the time) to wait her turn if Mommy and Daddy are busy helping Big Brother.

At her four month check-up (three weeks ago), Jaynee was in the 75th percentile for height and weight (25 inches and 14 lbs 15 oz). I can't believe how fast the time is going - it feels like I blink and she's bigger!

If you ever need a pick-me-up, Jaynee should be your go-to girl. She's always quick to flash a cheeky grin! She LOVES to be read to - she gets so excited that her whole body shakes when you hold a book in front of her. She also enjoys music and seems to really like being sung to. She's a champion eater, but we haven't yet started her on solids (don't let the picture in the high chair fool you).

Jaynee absolutely adores her big brother. Her eyes light up when he's around. (I think the feeling's mutual...he often asks for Jaynee to sit by him, like in the picture above). I've found that one way to keep them BOTH happy while I work in the kitchen is to put his wheelchair in front of her high chair and they entertain each other. Sometimes we'll just be sitting around and Gavin will do something that makes her laugh, which makes Gavin laugh and then they laugh at each others' laughs.

In regards to milestones...Jaynee was sleeping essentially through the night at 2 months (10 pm to 5 am - good enough for me!) But since our sleeping arrangements have switched around so that Gavin can be in with us at night, she has not been sleeping nearly as well...not sure why. Jaynee also rolled over for the first time this week and has done it again a few more times since then.
We think she's doing great and we love her like crazy!
